Multi-instrumentalist Goow Offers a Calm Trip That Follows Kandinsky’s Style

GOOW (Egor Efimuk), a multi-instrumentalist and sound creator, has returned with a new EP, “VISIONS,” released on March 14, 2025. This electronic work uses an unusual way to make music. Inspired by Kandinsky, GOOW does not produce music from paintings; he makes pictures with sound. The EP consists of three instrumental pieces, each meant to bring out a clear emotion, which you can experiment with by pressing play in the audio box below.

The first piece “You Finally Go Out for a Walk on a Warm and Sunny Spring Day,” sets a calm mood with Rhodes piano and African drums. As the music goes on, the initial calm gradually changes with more harsh sounds.

“You Notice Something Strange and Watch Until You Realise That You’re Standing on the Verge of a Fascinating Discovery” shifts from a soft piano sound to a strong burst of post-rock and ambient-rock guitars. This piece uses piano sounds played loudly, clear synth parts, live guitars plus drums.

The last piece “You Look into the Sky. Nothing Makes Sense, but You Don’t Care Anymore,” is a sad, rough drone with simple tunes hidden under many layers using granular synthesis for change and live-played kalimba for one tune.
