A Self-Made Mainstage Catalogue Reaches a New Single Written and Produced by Paul Armento

Twilight by JOYFIRE came out on 2 October 2026, with Christine Elise on the vocal. It extends a catalogue that Paul Armento, the DJ and producer behind JOYFIRE, has built since 2020, one release at a time.

JOYFIRE’s Twilight sits in the playlist below with our EDM, dance, house, dubstep and techno picks. JOYFIRE’s artist profile collects the coverage of his releases. Twilight reached IndieMusic.News through PopHits.Co Music Charts, which verifies independent artists and places their releases across its network of music news sites. Listen to the single, then keep reading for the six years behind it.

Before Twilight, JOYFIRE Spent Six Years Building a Self-Released Catalogue From Move My Body On

The run began with Move My Body on 7 August 2020. Five more singles followed before the year was out, among them In Movies, These Times and Jamaica. After that, the pace barely dropped.

The background behind those records is wider than dance music. His press kit lists pop, rock, classical and jazz, and in his own notes he says he was a pianist and a musician before he fell for EDM. Those early cuts, by his own account, were too musical for the floor.

In 2021 came Runaway Train, Bee and Want To. Then, in February 2022, Meant to Be arrived with Shelley Harland on the vocal, an early sign of the featured-vocalist format that Twilight follows.

By 2022, the sound had moved towards the mainstage, with singles such as Gladiator, Bass Go Boom and Gravity. In 2023 the releases came almost monthly. Far Beyond The Sun and Save Me arrived in May, then Never Enough, I Want To Know and Best Life over the summer. Today his press kit names Mainstage EDM, Big Room, Future Rave and Progressive House as the core. It also allows for some Hardstyle, Drum & Bass and Future Bass at the edges.

Covers and Collaborations, From Give Me Your Heart to Everytime We Touch

Covers became part of the plan too. Weeks after Give Me Your Heart, a November 2024 single with ALESSA.A, he released his take on Everytime We Touch. The song has a long chain of its own. Scottish singer Maggie Reilly first recorded it for her 1992 debut album, and it spent eight weeks at number one in Norway. Then, in 2005, Cascada borrowed its chorus, with Reilly’s permission, for a Eurodance version that reached number 10 on the Billboard Hot 100.

By his own count, JOYFIRE has now released more than 35 tracks on the major platforms. There are dozens more on SoundCloud and in exclusive record pools.

IndieMusic.News Curator Team: “We placed Twilight in our playlist because it shows six years of craft in one cut: a mainstage drop that still leaves room for a melody you can sing back. That balance is harder to strike than it sounds.”

Twilight Pairs JOYFIRE With Christine Elise on a Cut Paul Armento Wrote and Produced Himself

Twilight is a two-track single. Spotify credits Paul Gregory Armento as writer and composer, and lists Paul Armento, aka JOYFIRE, as studio producer. Christine Elise is the featured artist and carries the vocal.

The method behind it comes from the same notes. Armento says the trick with Big Room is balance. These tracks usually run on fairly simple melodies and harmony, so he sets the booming bass and kick against melodies people can sing, moving between major and minor keys. By keeping his own ears happy, he adds, that balance became his style.

The release itself follows the self-released playbook. JOYFIRE put Twilight out through DistroKid, with a pre-save link on his own website ahead of the date.

What Comes Next for JOYFIRE, From Record Pools to Extended Mixes and Live Sets

For a DJ and producer, a single’s second life happens in the booth. JOYFIRE sells extended mixes and DJ edits on Beatport, streams full sets and livestreams on Mixcloud, and gives away edits and bootlegs on SoundCloud.

His sets mix originals with remixes of crowd favourites. The press kit lists bootlegs of Imagine Dragons’ Believer, Billie Eilish’s Birds of a Feather and Cyndi Lauper’s Girls Just Wanna Have Fun. Support so far has come from Insomniac Radio, Revealed Recordings’ Brand New EDM playlist and Pauly D, among others.

For listeners who like the mainstage but want a melody that sticks, start with Twilight by JOYFIRE. Then go back to Everytime We Touch to hear how he handles a song everyone already knows.

Hear JOYFIRE on Apple Music and SoundCloud. Follow him on Spotify, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and X, visit the official website, or find every service for the single on DistroKid.
